  • Understanding our Name

    • Bugumiro

A noun derived from the Runyoro / Rutooro verb ‘kuguma’ which literally means ‘to be strong, to be firm.’ Apart from its traditional and cultural significance, the noun (name) Bugumiro, as shown in the foundation title and logo, is also intended to illustrate the theological symbolism of ‘putting one’s strength and hope or abandoning oneself in Jesus’ loving heart’ (Kugumira n’okunihira omu Ngonzi za Kristo. Kristo nuwe Bugumiro n’okunihira kwaitu).
